Jinja is a hub for adventure activities in Uganda. Here are some of the most popular ones;

Jinja is considered to be one of the best places in the world for white-water rafting. The activity is enjoyed on the Bujagali falls. The rapids on the Nile range from class 3 to class 5, providing a thrilling experience for both beginners and experienced rafters. Companies like adrift and Nile river explorers offer half and full-day rafting trips.

Bungee jumping is another popular activity I Jinja. The Nile high bungee jump is one of the highest bungee jumps in the world, with a height of 44m. The jump takes place from a platform on the Nile River, offering stunning views of the river and the surrounding area.

Take a boat cruise on the river Nile and visit the exact spot where the Nile separates from Lake Victoria on its journey to the mediterranean. Enjoy Jinja’s signature deep-fried tilapia for lunch, and visit Jinja city’s market, main street and monuments by car.

Tubing the Nile is a once in a lifetime experience end to end. One of the most outstanding elements for are the floaters, absolutely safe and colorful with a resting place for a glass or a bottle. Nothing slaps like a cold Nile Special as you slowly float along the Nile with the sun kissing your face for those who don’t mind beer, the water birds chirping away and some nostalgic African music whispering from the boom box. It was a great experience to share with those most dear to me.

  1. Nyege Nyege Festival

Nyege Nyege Festival is East Africa’s largest electronic music festival and has attracted tourists from all over the world. It is organized at Discovery Beach in the suburb of Njeru in Buyikwe district approximately 20 minutes from the Jinja Central Business District.
