Detailed itinerary

Day 1

Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park

After your morning breakfast, you will meet and greet with our company driver who will pick and transfer you to Murchison falls national park passing via the Luwero Triangle and Masindi town. You will have an en-route lunch in Masindi town at Kabalega dinners or Masindi hotel. After proceed to the park and drive straight to the top of the falls where you can view the natural beauty of the Nile. Sight the Nile compressing from a 50 meters to squeeze itself through a narrow gorge of 8 meters. After have an evening game drive while heading to the park lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2

Morning game drive plus afternoon launch cruise

Wake up early and head out for a morning game drive to the Nyamisiki plateau, enjoy the experience while having sight at some of big five such as the buffaloes, lions, elephants, giraffes plus other wildlife species like the heartbeats, warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks among others.  Return back to the lodge for breakfast, refreshments and then lunch. After head out for the boat trip on a placid Victoria Nile, upstream to the base of the falls. On your way you will get the opportunity of spotting the hippos, waterbucks, crocodiles and a diversity of birds like the pelican, bee- eater, egret, heron and the rare shoebill. The boat leaves you next to the “Devils Cauldron” where you can take photos of the photogenic and magnificent Murchison falls. While at the bottom of the falls leave the boat and start the hiking up to the top of the falls where you will find your guide who will take you to Budongo Eco lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3

Transfer to Kibale forest national park

Have morning breakfast then drive to the home of the chimpanzee Kibale forest national park. This will take you a full day with an en-route lunch stopover since you will arrive in the late evening. Check in at the lodge, have dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge in the park.

Day 4

Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walks

Enjoy your breakfast and then head to the Kanyanchu the  headquarters for briefing where you will be informed about the dos and don’ts while in the forest looking for the apes. Kibale forest is a home to 13 primate species making it also to be called the primate capital of the world. The trekking lasts for only 2 to 3 hours when you are seeing the chimps moving around in the forest acting like humans. You can also see bird species and butterflies in Kibale forest national park. return to the lodge for refreshment and lunch after proceed for the second trek which is Bigodi walk, here you will get chance to see monkeys swaying around  plus more birdlife different from the ones you viewed while in the forest. Head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at your booked lodge.

Day 5     

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park

Have an early breakfast in Kibale forest national park and then get a transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will be driven via the popular ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park where you will spot the tree climbing lions. After proceed to Bwindi with an en-route lunch arriving in the late evening. Check in at your booked lodge, have dinner and then an overnight stay.

Day 6

Gorilla trekking then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Delight in morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts while in the forest. After you will be availed with a ranger guide who will take you to the starting point of the trek. The trekking lasts for 4 hours to a half a day since the ranger may not know where the mountain gorillas nested the previous day. On finding the gorillas, you are only advised to be with them for only one hour viewing and taking photos of the primates which care less about the presence of the humans. Return to the starting point and then back to the headquarters to receive a certificate of appreciation then proceed to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon go in for a community walk and meet the Batwa pygmies, interact with them while learning their ways of living. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7

Return back to Kampala

Have a delicious breakfast and depart Bwindi for Kampala with a stopover at Agip motel or at Igongo cultural center in Mbarara city. Proceed with the journey with a second stopover at Mbabire drum makers arriving Kampala late in the evening or Entebbe international airport to catch up your booked flight back home.
